How do I submit spam for further investigation?

Got spam? If a message slips past MX Guarddog we want to know about it. We always appreciate knowing when a message gets past our guard dog. Forward the messages (as attachments) to spam@mxguarddog.com.

A lot of message information is actually held in the message 'headers'. The headers are not normally shown when you read a message but they contain information on sender and the route it took to get to your inbox. Attaching the spam message as an attachment retains the message headers that we need to correctly analyze the message.

What not to submit...

Yes we want spam, but there is some we are not interested in. Here is a list of things we don't want.

  • Messages to email addresses that are not protected by MX Guarddog.
  • Messages that are not really spam. If you receive site updates, or subscribe to a newsletter from a reputable company (CNN, BBC and Google come to mind) and don't want to their updates anymore you should use their unsubscribe. We will not take action against an email sender if they are not sending spam.
